GEORGE SHAW

Music Composer

George is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern California majoring in Composition with an Emphasis in Film Scoring. Originally born and raised in Houston, Texas, George was a kid who loved to be entertained by the movies. At the age of 10 he began piano lessons, and clarinet at the age of 12. Film music played a crucial role in his growing interest in music, and during middle school, he developed an interest in writing down his own melodies. He is an accomplished clarinettist and indulged in playing percussion in high school, as well as taking on the responsibility of Drum Major for the marching band.

By the time he got to high school, he was set in combining his love for cinema and his love for movies and composing for films. Knowing that Los Angeles was the place to go, George applied for the Resident Honors Program at USC and was accepted. He eagerly skipped senior year of high school to go to USC in pursuit of his passion for film scoring.

Aside from his composing, George enjoys conducting, improvising, the fine weather in LA, Broadway musicals, and rock climbing.
